Rattlesnake Slope Wildlife Area

Try this short hike into the Rattlesnake Slope Wildlife Area, complete with wildflowers and the option further exploring this unique landscape.

From the parking area, follow the only trail as it gently climbs into the hills. Soon reach a fence corner that divides the wildlife area from the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility. Here the trail divides, with the route to the right dipping down into the bottom of the canyon you will soon enter, while the route to the left keeps to the upper reaches of the canyon. The trails eventually reconnect, making either route workable, though the path to the left puts on the better wildflower show.
