To get there, take I-90 to the Hyak Exit 54 and take a left. After you pass under the freeway, take a right on the frontage road, Forest Service Road 4832. Follow the road for approximately 1.5 miles to the signed Gold Creek Road, Forest Service Road #142. Turn left and follow the road for a half-mile to the Gold Creek Pond parking lot and trailhead. From the parking lot, follow the trail a few hundred feet to the loop. Head right and follow the trail past the junction with Gold Creek Trail #1314 at 0.4 mile. Keep left and continue through wetlands and over creeks spanned by sturdy boardwalk, pausing to read interpretive signs and passing paths leading down to the water and wider views of the landscape. Continue around the water through sections greenery dotted with wildflowers in the late spring. Compete your circuit at large picnic area complete with several tables, benches, and open grills.
